While in Cancun I tried two outdoor runs. On Sunday, July 24th I ran 3 miles with Handan and then another 3 by myself. The next day (Monday) I ran 6 miles outside by myself. Both runs were hard because of the very high humidity (it is tropical after all) and after the run on Monday I decided to do the remainder of my running indoors on the treadmill. I think I ran three times indoors... runs of 5 or 6 miles.
Today (my first full day back) I headed out to the W&OD trail at 5:45am for a nice long welcome-back-to-training run. I wanted to do at least 16 miles, but was hoping for 18. I ended up splitting the difference and running a pretty steady 17 miles. I had two GUs during the run and drank two bottles of low-cal Gatorade during the run. Before the run I had a ClifBar and a Mango Juice (from Costco).
Now I feel like I'm back in the training groove and will have my next run on Tuesday.
