This is a low-mileage week, so I decided to run today's 5 miles as fast as I could. I wanted to see if I could maintain a fast pace throughout. Turns out I couldn't. In the 5th mile I ran out of power, but I was still able to run under my marathon goal pace in the last mile.
And running fast felt good. I think it gives me a different kind of exercise than the long, slow runs.
